Step back in time with a memorable visit to the Old Country Store & Emporium. Throughout 175 years of continuous operation, it has been a proud landmark of West Mansfield Village and a delightful attraction for tens of thousands of visitors. Many of the sights, sounds and delicious aromas that our grandparents knew are here in the rambling array of quaint wooden buildings. The recent restoration of the West Mansfield "Fire Barn", adjacent to the Old Country Store, now houses the "Firehouse Candle Shop" offering a complete selectoin of Candles and accessories.

The "Emporium" houses a restored soda fountain and apothecary shop, featuring barber shop items, home fragrances, vintage furniture reproductions & curios, cranberry glass, fine pewter, forged brass candlesticks, and select floor and table lamps. The sounds of the 3 restored nickelodeon's bring back fond memories of an earlier era. There's no shortage of rocking chairs in the "Attic", along with chair cushions and bedroom furniture.

The "Barn" is an example of "organized clutter" offering the whole family an opportunity to satisfy their individual shopping desires. Stuffed bears, pictures, linens, braided rugs, jelly cupboards and occasional furniture, kitchen & dining room tables, hutches and lighting fixtures and gifts galore. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

The hardware section includes unique drawer pulls, Acorn wrought iron hardware, door knockers and so much more. In the "Carriage Room" you'll find the old lamplighter on hand for repairs and advice about lamps, shades, chimmneys and replacement parts.

The original store with a warm and friendly atmosphere invites the entire family to browse at the antique candy counter, old time provisions section featuring common crackers, cheddar cheese, maple products, preserves, jellies and fresh ground coffees. The "Grain Shed" is now the home of housewares and kitchen things including a large selection of homespun placemats and tablecloths.

Don't miss the "Stove Room", featuring fireplace grates, screens and hearth accessories. If you're a bird lover, check out our selection of feeders and houses. The "Old Sharon Box" building is brimming with woodenware, stoneware, mugs and cast iron products from the foundry and forge.

Come see the Old Country Store lamplighter. Bring your favorite jug, vase or bottle and we can turn it into an "interesting lamp". Also, any old lamp you have that might need some eletrical work can be repaired. That old lamp in the closet can be revived and work as good as new, whether it needs a new socket, cord, shade etc. we probably have it. Whatever you have, bring it in and see what the lamplighter can do.
